Bogan Division win at Maine Maritime Academy's Ritchie Field on
Saturday. The win ended the Rams (5-2, 4-0 Bogan) ten-game drought
against the Mariners (4-2, 2-2 Bogan), and leaves Framingham in the
division's driver's seat with an unblemished record.

Game: The Rams defeated Fitchburg State University
Falcons, 39-9 in New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan
Division action at Elliot Field. Junior Melikke Van Alstyne (Salem, Mass.) put
totaled 136 yards on 24 carries and two scores. Sophomore
quarterback Matthew Silva (Dracut, Mass.) finished 16 of 23 for 185
yards and three TD passes, while Alexander Avery (Milford, Mass.)
led the Rams receivers with seven catches for 112 yards and one
touchdown.
Maine Maritime's Last
Game: Westfield State scored on six of its seven
first half possessions en route to a 63-13 win over Maine Maritime
in New England Football Conference Bogan
Division action at Ritchie Field.
Billy
Wetherbee (Veazie, Maine) led the Mariners rushing
attack with 55 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, while freshman
signal caller, Michael Fahey (Union, Conn.), picked up 52
yards on 16 touches. Fahey shared time at quarterback with
classmate,Michael Cummings (Bucksport, Maine).
Cummings rushed for 50 yards and a score. The Mariners rushed for
234 yards in the game.
The Coaches: Tom Kelley returned to
coaching in 2006. In 2008 Kelley guided the Rams to a 5-5 mark,
which was the Rams best finish since the 1986 season. In 2010
Kelley guided the Rams to their first MASCAC Football Championship
as the team established a new school record for victories.
The Rams went 9-2 overall and were the winners of the ECAC
Northeast Bowl in their first ECAC Bowl appearance.
Chris
McKenney is in his 12th season at the helm in Castine. The most
victorious coach in the Academy's history, McKenney picked up his
50th win in the 2011. Under
McKenney's direction, the Mariners have med three postseason
appearances, including the Academy's first-ever NCAA Championship
appearance in the wake of the 2009 NEFC Championship. That season,
McKenney was named the New England Football Writers Coach of the
Year for Divisions II & III. In 2005, he was named the NEFC
Coach of the Year. He had earned Bogan Division Coach of the Year
honors in 2006 and 2008. McKenney enters today's game with a record
of 53-57.
