CASTINE, MAINE -- Maine Maritime won its second straight game with a 60-28 win over Green Mountain in a North Atlantic Conference women's basketball game Friday night. The Mariners improved to a perfect 2-0 in the NAC, 3-2 overall. Green Mountain fell to 1-7, 0-3.

Bekah Campbell scored a game-high 12 points, Casey Everest added 10 points and Leah Jackson grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for MMA. Chelsea Paul led the Eagles with 10 points.

Maine Maritime created separation early in game, while leading 8-5, with a 10-0 run. Campbell netted five in the run, Casey Everest three and Kari Jones two to put the Mariners ahead18-5 with 11:39 left in the opening half. Chelsea Paul got the Eagles within nine, 23-14, with six straight points at 7:24. The Mariners ended the half with seven unanswered to lead 33-16 at halftime. Jones scored three in the run while Jillian Perron and Campbell both netted two.

MMA began the second half with a 19-4 scoring run to take a 30 points, 52-22, lead with 7:07 left in the game. Eight different players scored the Mariners in the run, which was led by five points from both Courtney Dufour and Everest. Maine Maritime's lead never fell below 29 the remainder of the game.

The Mariners return to action Saturday hosting Castleton at 1 p.m.
