Series History: Saturday is the 36th meeting between the two schools in a series that started in 1959. The Mariners own an 18-17 record against the Bison and won the the last meeting, in 2005.

Nichols' Last Game: The Nichols College football team was defeated by MIT 48-0 Friday night in a New England Football College (NEFC) contest.
Freshman Grant Klimek rushed for 48 yards on nine carries (5.3 ypc) while reigning NEFC Defensive Player of the Week Devon Nelson led the Bison with 12 tackles (five solo).
Nichols trailed 21-0 after one quarter of play and 38-0 at the half. MIT racked up 563 yards of total offense and held the Bison to 99. Nichols also turned the ball over twice.
MIT scored on its first drive and proceeded to churn out a school-record 563 total yards of offense en route to its first NEFC win of the year. It was also the second shutout of the season – another school mark. Junior Justin Wallace (Palatine, Ill.) ran for 167 yards and three scores to lead the Engineers attack.
MIT (3-2, 1-2 NEFC) wasted little time after taking the opening kickoff, driving 66 yards in eight plays in just 2:41. Wallace carried five times for 32 yards on the drive, taking it in from the three for the first score of the game.
Maine Maritime's Last Game: Coast Guard shutout Maine Maritime 40-0 in a New England Football Conference game Saturday. The Bears improved to 3-4 overall and 3-1 in the NEFC, while the Mariners dropped to 0-5 and 0-3 in conference play.
CG freshman quarterback Derek Victory was 13 of 15 for 119 yards in the first half throwing a 5-yard touchdown pass to Jake Wawrzyniak to open the scoring the 5:28 left in the first quarter, the extra point was blocked.
The Bears used a trick play on its next possession when wide receiver Collis Brown threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to fellow receiver Blake Thompson with 2:53 left in the first quarter for a 13-0 lead.
Maine Maritime quarterback Mike Fahey carried 18 times for 111 yards, while Billy Wetherbee had 21 carries for 68 yards.
NEFC Honors: Fahey was named to the NEFC Honor Roll after rushing for a team-high 111 yards on 18 carries (6.2/carry) with a long of 52 against Coast Guard.
Top 10 In Sight: Wetherbee is 87 yards shy of tying Todd Murphy '10 for 10th on the school's all-time rushing list. Murphy finished with 1,917 yards, Wetherbee currently has rushed for 1,830 yards.
