Quarterback Derek Victory went 21 of 23 for 186 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bears. Michael Fahey (Union, Conn.) rushed for 111 yards in the loss to lead the Mariners offensively. Chase Hutchinson led the Mariners with eight solo tackles, and Victor Rizzardi recorded 12 tackles for the Bears.
Coach George: Coast Guard's Head Coach Bill George is in his 16th season with the Bears. Last season with the victory over Maine Maritime Academy, Coach George moved into first all-time with wins as a head coach. The victory over Maine Maritime gave Coach George his 49th career win, since then the Bears have gone on to win three more games, putting his career win total at 52.
Coach McKenney: Maine Maritime's Head Coach Chris McKenney has also rewritten the record books in his 14 years with the Mariners. McKenney was the first coach in history to win 50 career games, making him the most victorious coach in Maine Maritime Academy history.
Maine Maritime Last Week: The Mariners are coming off a bye week, following a 45-28 loss to Endicott in week five.
Coast Guard Last Week: Sophomore quarterback Derek Victory threw for 295 yards and a touchdown while senior Collis Brown had a season-high 11 receptions and became the Bears all-time receptions leader as Coast Guard shutout Curry 17-0.
Senior Victor Rizzardi led the Bears with 13 tackles, ten solo, while junior James Rizzo added nine tackles, seven solo, and three broken up passes. Junior linebacker Kyle Wood led the Bears with three sacks.
The Mariners: Jacob Doolan (Fairfield, Maine) leads the Mariners with 146.8 rushing yards per game and four touchdowns. Jacob Doolan also leads the team with three receiving touchdowns on four catches, totaling 146 yards.
Quarterback Michael Fahey has thrown the ball for for three touchdowns and 217 yards, while rushing for 518 yards and three touchdowns. Teagan Candage (Bar Harbor, Maine) leads the Mariners with 15 returns, totaling 303 yards, including a long return of 70 yards.
Thomas Kinton (York, Maine) leads the defense with 34 total tackles, two interceptions, and two broken up passes, followed closely by Johnny Weymouth's (Windham, Maine) 32 tackles and five broken up passes. Michael Burgess (North Yarmouth, Maine) leads the Mariners with five sacks.

After six games this season, the Coast Guard Defense leads the NEFC with 531 total tackles.
The Bears are averaging 18 points per game, while allowing opponents to score 27.7 points per game. While producing an average of 276.5 yards of total offense per game.
Rushing the Way to the Top: Despite coming off a bye week the Mariners still sit atop the New England Football Conference and the NCAA Division III in rushing offense, with 1763 rushing yards, averaging 440.8 yards per game.
Tenth Place for Number Twenty: First year running back Jacob Doolan ranks 10th in the Nation among Division III Running Backs, in rushing yards per game, with 146.8 yards per game.
Passing Heights: The Mariners accrued 141 passing yards in the game against Endicott, the most passing yards in a game since September 29, 2012 against Worcester State when they totaled 149 yards.
Notable Offense: Maine Maritime Academy totaled 582 yards of offense against Endicott, the most yards of offense in a game since last season versus Anna Maria College on September 14, 2013.
Go Long: Michael Fahey completed an 86-yard pass to Jacob Doolan against Endicott two weeks ago. That completion is the fourth longest pass completion in Maine Maritime Academy history.
Mary Dow Center for Cancer Care Update: For the past three months, the Maine Maritime Academy Football Team collected donations throughout their respective local communities, to benefit the Mary Dow Center for Cancer Care in Ellsworth, Maine. The Mary Dow Center is at the forefront of Cancer research, attempting to find a safer more reliable cure at a convenient Maine location.
The Mariners concluded their fundraising efforts for the Mary Dow Center for Cancer Care with their "Crush Cancer" game against Endicott on October 4th.
With the sale of special edition "Crush Cancer" t-shirts, the auction of two pink replica helmets, and donations raised over the last few months the Mariners raised a grand total of $9,000.38.
Mariner Madness: Members of the Mariner Football Team will be celebrated this Friday night at the Inaugural Mariner Madness.
