Saturday's Game: Maine Maritime Academy (1-2, NEFC 0-1) vs. Endicott College (2-2, NEFC 1-0), 12:00 p.m.
 
Series History: Maine Maritime Academy is 0-2 against Endicott College. The Mariners took on the Gulls last season, and prior to that the two teams battled in the 2010 NEFC Championship game.
 
Last Meeting: The Mariners and Gulls last met on October 5th, 2013 when Endicott College defeated Maine Maritime Academy 53-28.
 
Maine Maritime took the lead on two Ryan O'Neal rushes to open up the first quarter. O'Neal ran the ball in from 36-yards and 2-yards to put the Mariners up. Billy Wetherbee added the successful 2-point conversion to make it 14-0.
 
Endicott's Alec Matys scored on a 12-yard touchdown reception, making it 14-7.  Both teams scored two more touchdowns in the second quarter, setting the score at 28-21 in favor of the Mariners, entering halftime. Endicott scored early in the third quarter to take the 28-27 lead, and the momentum, finding the end zone four more times in the second half, to claim the 53-28 victory.
 
The Mariners amassed 366 rushing yards and went 4-4 on fourth down conversions in the loss. Maine Maritime's defense grabbed a total of 70 tackles, a forced fumble, an interception, and a blocked kick.
 
Maine Maritime Last Week: Maine Maritime Academy fell to New England Football Conference opponent Western New England University, 80-16.
 
Jacob Doolan amassed 116 rushing yards on 12 carries and a touchdown, while catching one pass for 34 yards resulting in a touchdown. Maine Maritime recorded 338 rushing yards on the afternoon.
 
Defensively John Doyon recorded 11 tackles for the Mariners, including 1.5 tackles for a loss and a forced fumble. Johnny Weymouth picked up eight tackles, including one tackle for a loss. Michael Burgess grabbed four tackles, one sack and a forced fumble.
 
Endicott Last Week: Endicott garnered a 28-6 victory over Curry as senior quarterback Drew Frenette threw three of his four touchdown passes to senior receiver Brett Egizi.
 
The Gulls defense, led by a two-sack performance by fifth-year linebacker Andrew Holfinger, subdued a Colonels offense that held a significant advantage in time of possession.
 
The Mariners: Offensively, Maine Maritime is led by quarterback Michael Fahey's 376 yards rushing, and 76 passing yards. In just three games, Fahey has thrown for two touchdowns and has rushed for three touchdowns, including a team high 72-yard scoring run.
 
Jacob Doolan leads the team with an average of 10.5 yards per rush, totaling 368 rushing yards on just 35 carries. Doolan also leads the team in receiving with two touchdown receptions.
 
On returns, the Mariner are led by Teagan Candage who is averaging 24.9 yards per return, including a long return of 70 yards in just nine returns.
 
Thomas Kinton, Johnny Weymouth and Michael Burgess sit atop the defensive statistics. Kinton has 23 total tackles, two interceptions, and two broken up passes.
 
Weymouth has 21 tackles and four broken up passes. Burgess has 19 tackles, 7.5 tackles for a loss, four sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a broken up pass.
 
The Gulls: Endicott quarterback Drew Frenette leads the team with 1,026 passing yards, 10 touchdowns, and an average of 256.5 passing yards per game.
 
Christian Martin leads Endicott on the ground with 149 net rushing yards on 44 rushes, while Nate Lewis leads the team with 425 receiving yards and two touchdowns.  Wide receiver Brett Egizi has recorded a team–high four touchdowns on 10 catches, totaling 169 yards.
 
Sophomore John Elnagger leads the Gulls with 35 total tackles, including 4 tackles for a loss. Andrew Holfinger has 24 tackles, six tackles for a loss, and five sacks.
 
Conference Toppers: Maine Maritime Academy continues to lead the New England Football Conference in overall rushing, combining for a league leading 1,322 yards total on 226 rushes, in all games played.
 
The Mariners also lead the league in yards per game with 440.7.
 
NCAA Leaders: Entering week five, the Mariners lead the NCAA Division III in rushing offense. Michael Burgess is ranked 12th in the country among NCAA DIII players with 7.5 forced fumbles.
 
Candage Recognized: Teagan Candage was featured on WDEA AM 1370's website this past week following his impressive performance as a kick returner against Western New England.
 
Candage returned the ball nine times against the Golden Bears, averaging 24.9 yards per return. He also broke a return for 70 yards, and carried the ball three times for the Mariners.
 
Safety First: The Mariners defense forced a safety on Saturday against Western New England. The last time Maine Maritime forced a safety was on October 12th, 2012 against Massachusetts Maritime.
 
Giving Back: Over the past three months, the Mariners have been collecting donations throughout their respective local communities, to benefit the Mary Dow Center for Cancer Care in Ellsworth, Maine.
 
The Mary Dow Center is at the forefront of Cancer research, attempting to find a safer more reliable cure at a convenient Downeast Maine location.
 
Last Saturday, the Mariners collected additional donations by passing around a helmet during halftime of the game against Western New England.
 
On Wednesday, Jack Frost Director of Development for the Mary Dow Center for Cancer and Board of Trustees member Karen Stanley met with the team captains, John MacDonald, Alex Morrison, and Head Coach Chris McKenney.
 
During Saturday's game festivities the Mariners will be donating more than $6,500 to the Mary Dow Center for Cancer Care in a check donation ceremony.
 
The Mariners hope to collect even more donations during Saturday's game with a Pink Helmet Auction, t-shirt sales, and another Pass the Helmet promotion.
