Saturday's Game: Maine Maritime Academy (1-1) vs. Western New England University (2-0).
Series History: Saturday's game marks the 13th meeting between Maine Maritime and Western New England. Western New England currently holds an 8-4 record over Maine Maritime. The Golden Bears have won the last two meetings.

Coaching Records: Under the direction of Head Coach Chris McKenney the Mariners are 1-4 against the Golden Bears in his 14 years of coaching, while Keith Emery has guided WNEU to a 4-1 record against the Mariners in his 10 years as Head Coach. 
Last Meeting: Last season the Golden Bears defeated the Mariners 59-0 on September 28th, 2013. Western New England set a school record with 740 total yards, including seven rushing touchdowns. 
The Mariners controlled the time of possession, having the ball 33 minutes and 44 seconds compared to the Golden Bears 26 minutes and 16 seconds.
Billy Wetherbee led Maine Maritime with 68 yards on 21 attempts. Ryan O'Neal picked up 61 yards on eight rushes, with a long rush of 33 yards. Terrance N'Dablan ran the ball six times for WNEU, totaling 152 yards and two touchdowns, while teammate Kevin Cook ran the ball 16 times for 122 yards and three touchdowns.
Thomas Kinton grabbed a game-high 18 tackles (nine solo), Andy Martel recorded 12 tackles (two solo), and a fumble return, while Christopher Ford picked up 11 tackles (two solo), one sack, 1.5 tackles for a loss, and one forced fumble. Walter Lewis recorded 10 tackles for the Golden Bears, one tackle for a loss. Nathan Fleming added eight tackles and Kevin Soule grabbed eight tackles, two sacks, and two tackles for a loss. 
Maine Maritime Last Week: Maine Maritime Academy totaled 486 yards of total offense, 464 by land, in the 26-20 loss to Massachusetts Maritime. Joseph DiBiase ran the ball 14 times, totaling 126 yards, and two touchdowns for the Mariners. While Jacob Doolan amassed 117 yards on 11 carries and junior quarterback Michael Fahey ran the ball 29 times for 91 yards, a touchdown, and added 22 passing yards.
The Mariners (1-1) took the opening kickoff and marched 68 yards on six plays to take a 6-0 lead just 2:05 into the contest on a three-yard run by sophomore Joseph DiBiase, who added a 54-yard touchdown run with 1:15 remaining in the opening quarter.  Maine Maritime rushed for 311 yards in the opening 30 minutes of action and held the ball for over 20 minutes in building its lead.
Trailing 12-0 at the break, the Buccaneers scored on a 91-yard kickoff return to close back to within a score, and after stopping the visiting Mariners on downs on the ensuing possession, Trudel capped a five-play, 69-yard drive with a six-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Michael Fahey capped a six-play drive with a one-yard plunge that gave the visitors a 20-13 lead following a two-point conversion. Massachusetts Maritime scored on its next possession, as Rosano brought in a 14-yard scoring strike from Trudel to even the score 20-20. 
Both teams had chances to take the lead in the fourth quarter, the best coming with 5:19 remaining after the Buccaneers drove to the Mariner 8-yard line before Trudel's pass was intercepted by junior Cody McDonald in the end zone for a touchback.  Maine Maritime took that possession and drove down to the Massachusetts Maritime 8-yard line with 1:04 to play in regulation, but the visitors were stopped on a 4th-and-4 rush on a tackle by senior Reynard Ortiz, and the two rivals headed to overtime.
McDonald came up with his second interception on the second play of the first overtime after the Mariners won the toss and elected to play defense. Maine Martime's drive stalled at the 18-yard line, and senior Victor Andrade forced Fahey to fumble to start the second extra session. The Buccaneer quarterback John Trudel's rushed two-yards to give the Buccaneers the victory.
Western New England Last Week: The Golden Bears had a bye last week. They won their first game of the season at Springfield College 38-34, scoring two touchdowns in the final 5 minutes and 30 seconds, and their next game against Westfield State 17-14; Tyler Ward connected with Alejandro Colon with a 38-yard pass for the go-ahead touchdown with 4 minutes and 18 for the come from behind win.
The Golden Bears: Western New England enters saturday's game with a 2-0 record; they have scored an average of 27.5 points per game, allowing their opponents to score an average of 24. 
Offensively the Golden Bears have been led by quarterback Tyler Ward who is 34-51, totaling 358 yards by air, for three touchdowns. Ward also ranks second on the team in rushing with 68 yards on 16 runs. Kevin Cook leads WNEU on the ground with 188 yards on 52 carries and four touchdowns. Tucker Schumitz leads the team with two touchdown receptions on 11 catches and 122 yards. 
Dean Soucie leads the Golden Bears with 19 tackles (12 solo), and one forced fumble. Teammate Zachary Fleming has 18 tackles (10 solo).
Overtime Thrillers: The Mariners played in their first double overtime game since October 8th, 2011. Last week's game was the first time in history that the Admiral's Cup went into overtime.
High Honors: Cody McDonald was named NEFC Defensive Player of the Week following his 10 tackles, two interceptions, and one broken up game against Mass. Maritime. 
McDonald's Arm: Cody McDonald caught more interceptions in last weekends game than he has in his entire career with the Mariners. Add his broken up pass and McDonald poses a serious defensive threat for Maine Maritime.
Conference Leaders: Entering week four, Maine Maritime leads the NEFC in total offense (498 yards per game), and rushing offense (477 yards per game). Defensively the Mariners lead the conference with the most interceptions (5), and red zone defense, only allowing opponents to score 44.4% of the time. The Mariners also lead the NEFC in time of possesion averaging 37 minutes and 43 seconds of control a game. Maine Maritime has a NEFC leading +2 turnover margin.
Individually, Michael Fahey lead the NEFC in rushing yards (332) and all purpose yards. While defensively Michael Burgess leads the NEFC in tackles for a loss (6.5), and Thomas Kinton, Johnny Weymouth, and Cody McDonald dominate the top three in passes defended, combining for seven broken up passes and  four inteceptions.
Hall of Fame Class of 2014: This Friday Maine Maritime Athletic will welcome Amy Asselin `06, Tom Herbert `50, and Robert "Bob" MacLeod `69 into the William J. Mottola Athletics Hall of Fame. 
Amy Asselin, '06: As the first representative of women's soccer, 2002 NAC Rookie of the Year and Team Captain Amy Asselin was a four-year standout for the Mariners, and the only women's soccer player to ever be named to the NAC First Team All-Conference all four years.
She currently ranks first all-time with 129 career points, 49 career goals, and 31 assists, as well as points per game, goals per game, assists per game, shot attempts per game and shots on goal per game, just to name a few.
Tom Herbert, '50: Tom Herbert was a three-sport standout athlete for football, basketball, and baseball. Herbert was a two-way end leading the team in receptions in 1947 and 1949. Herbert was the shooting guard for Maine Maritime, playing the '47-'48 season but missing the next two years due to injury.
On the diamond Herbert won 16 games as a pitcher, and compiled a three-year batting average of .304. While on cruise Herbert pitched against Santo Domingo University (Dominican Republic) and a team of all-stars led by Carlton Willey.
Robert "Bob" MacLeod, '69: Robert "Bob" MacLeod was a four-year football standout, as well as competing three years in wrestling and rowing. In his junior year McLeod was named Outstanding Defensive Lineman, and as a senior captain was named to the All-Conference team.
McLeod went undefeated as a wrestler, and served as the team captain, all while being applauded for his toughness, work ethic and academic prowess.
