The Mariners jumped on the board first with a three-play, 57-yard drive down the field. Doolan ran the ball 38 yards for the score, and Michael Fahey successfully converted the two-point conversion making it 8-0 in favor of Maine Maritime.
The Golden Bears matched the touchdown with their eight-play, 70-yard scoring drive but two-point conversion failed, giving the Mariners the 8-6 lead.
Western New England scored two more times in the first quarter making it 18-8, but the Mariners defense was awarded with a safety in the start of the second quarter making it 18-10. The Golden Bears responded with three touchdowns in the second quarter increasing their lead to 38-10.
The Mariners scored on a four-play 46-yard drive capped off by a Doolan 34-yard touchdown reception from Fahey to cut the lead to 38-16 entering the half.
Western New England combined for 42 points in the second half, led by quarterback Tyler Ward who went 15-21 with 321 yards, and four touchdowns.
Defensively Jeddy Doyon recorded a team-high 11 tackles for the Mariners, including 1.5 tackles for a loss and a forced fumble and Johnny Weymouth added eight tackles. The Golden Bears were led by Dean Soucie who recorded 14 tackles.
Maine Maritime Academy's Last Game: The Mariners fell to Coast Guard 21-14 on October 3. The Mariners dominated time of possession 41:50 to 18:10 and out rushed the Bears 403-80.
Michael Fahey led the team with 159 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Cody Chapman led the way defensively for the Mariners with eight total tackles, and Jeddy Doyon forced a fumble while adding four tackles.
Western New England University's Last Game: Nick Connell ran for two touchdowns and Tyler Ward passed for two others to lead Western New England to a 49-6 over Nichols on October 3.
Western New England scored on its first two possessions when Connell ran one yard just 2:24 into the contest and Ward fired a 58-yard pass to Terrence N'Dabian at the 9:31 mark.
