Box Score CASTINE, Maine -- Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball cruised to a 84-36 victory over Green Mountain College on Friday evening, in North Atlantic Conference action inside of Smith Gymnasium.
The Mariners jumped out to a 22-0 lead, and never looked back. Maine Maritime shot an impressive 55 percent from the floor and 52.9 percent from beyond the arc.
Alayne Felix (Mahopac, N.Y.) scored a game-high 14 points, while pulling down six rebounds, dishing out two assists and a steal. Tess Clark (Spring, Texas) added 13 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals, Mackenzie Vosburgh (Rhinebeck, N.Y.) tallied 12 points, all from beyond the arc, one rebound, an assist and a steal, and Kristi Willey (Topsham, Maine) chipped in with 11 points, three assists, two rebounds and a steal.
Torie Cowell and Sherelle Jackson led Green Mountain with 10 points a piece. Cowell added four rebounds and a steal, while Jackson contributed three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Keelin Banks tallied a game-high eight rebounds for the Eagles.
Maine Maritime Academy improves to 8-6 overall and 5-3 in the conference, while the Eagles fall to 0-13 on the season and 0-9 in the NAC. The Mariners return to action tomorrow when they host Castleton University at 1:00 p.m., the Eagles will travel to take on Husson University, also at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow.
