Series History: The Privateers hold the 1-0 all-time advantage over the Mariners after picking up the victory last season, in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

The Story of the 2015 Mariners: The Mariners went 3-6 last season, winning two of their final three games. The Mariners went 2-5 in the New England Football Conference (NEFC) and claimed the 43rd Admiral's Cup on Homecoming Weekend. The Mariners landed an impressive 16 student-athletes on the NEFC All-Academic Team and four players earned NFF Hampshire Honor Society accolades.
The Story of the 2015 Privateers: The Privateers went 5-5 last season, winning the final two games of their season. The Privateers tallied a 3-4 record in the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) and defeated Gallaudet in the final game of their 2015 season, 34-0. Five Privateers earned All-ECFC Academic honors while three players were named to the NFF Hampshire Honor Society.
The 2016 Mariners: The Mariners will be led by team captains: defensive end Robert Bradley, Jr. (Slidell, La.), linebacker Cody Chapman (Bangor, Maine) and running back Joshua Doolan (Fairfield, Maine). Chris McKenney will guide the Mariners in his 16th season as Head Coach.
Maine Maritime was picked to finish seventh among the NEFC's eight teams by the league's head coaches.
The 2016 Privateers: The Privateers will be led by team captains; wide receiver Nick Fischetti, line backer Kendal Parker, defensive back Brian Price, and offensive lineman Thomas Korwan. Clayton Kendrick-Holmes will guide the Privateers in his 12th season as Head Coach.
SUNY Maritime was picked to finish fifth among the ECFC's eight teams by the league's head coaches.
All-Conference Returners: The Mariners return 2015 All-NEFC Defensive Second Team selection Christopher Ford (Pembroke, N.H.) and All-NEFC Offensive First Team selection James Ferrar (Cumberland, Maine).
Last season, Ford tallied 51 tackles (24 solo), including 7.5 for a loss, totaling 27 yards, and two sacks, totaling 17 yards.
Ferrar led the Mariners last season with 972 rushing yards on 178 carries, and seven touchdowns. He ranked third in the NEFC with 108.3 rushing yards per game and ranked 47th among DIII players in the same category.
The Cumberland, Maine native appeared in all nine games for the Mariners, and averaged 5.5 yards per carry and registered a conference leading, long-rush of 71 yards. Ferrar was a regular on the NEFC Weekly Honor Roll, all season. Ferrar also earned 2015 ECAC Division III Football North All-Star honors.
