Saturday's game marks the 44th Annual Admiral's Cup. The Buccaneers hold a 25-18 advantage over the Mariners in Admiral's Cup games. The Mariners picked up the last meeting between the to teams.
The rivalry was started in 1946, with the first Admiral's Cup being played in 1973.

Last Meeting: Michael Fahey amassed 216 yards of total offense and accounted for three touchdowns as Maine Maritime used a last-second goal line stand to post a 47-41 victory over Massachusetts Maritime in the 43rd Annual Admiral's Cup game on Saturday afternoon, at Ritchie Field.
In a game that saw the teams combine for 88 points, the highest scoring Admiral's Cup clash in the 43-year modern-day series history, and 1,233 yards of offense, a defensive stand gave the Mariners their first Admiral's Cup win since 2010.
The Buccaneers used a five-play drive to open the scoring in their first possession, capped off by a 20-yard run by quarterback Brad Skeffington. The Mariners blocked the extra point and took just a little over a minute to answer right back with a Joshua Doolan (Fairfield, Maine) 61-yard run for a touchdown, to tie the game at 6-6.
Mass. Maritime responded quickly with a Kenny Pierce 87-yard run to take the 13-6 lead, but on the ensuing drive the Mariners marched 75 yards down the field on ten plays, topped off by a one-yard touchdown run by Fahey, and a good two-point conversion by Jacob Doolan (Fairfield, Maine) to take the 14-13 lead.
The Mariners held the Buccaneers to just six plays on their next drive, forcing them to kick a field goal that went wide left. Fahey shook off every defender as he rushed the ball 49 yards for his second touchdown of the day, and Chad Martin added an extra point to extend the Mariners' lead to 21-13.
Maine Maritime started off the second quarter with a five-yard Jacob Doolan touchdown to take the 27-13 lead. Justin Lovely intercepted Skeffington's pass on the Buccaneers next drive to stop their scoring chance, and the Mariners found themselves in great field possession, setting up a 19-yard touchdown run for Jacob Doolan to make it 34-13.
The Buccaneers responded late in the first half to send the Mariners into the intermission with a just a 41-34 lead.
After a high-scoring first half the second half proved to be completely different, as the Mariners added just three points in the third quarter on a 25-yard field goal by Martin.
Martin added another field goal, this time a 28 yarder to extend the Mariner lead to 47-34. Kenny Pierce added an 11-yard touchdown run with a little over seven minutes remaining in the game to close the gap to 47-41.The Buccaneers held the Mariners on their next drive, forcing a punt but the Mariner defense responded when Matt Clifford picked off Skeffington at the visitor's 12-yard line.
Matthew Anson intercepted Fahey's pass on the next drive, giving the Buccaneers another chance.
With a little over three minutes remaining in the game the Buccaneers took over on offense and brought it down to the Mariner four-yard line, but the Maine Maritime defense stepped up, breaking up a last-second pass from Skeffington, as time expired to claim the victory in dramatic fashion, in front of an excited homecoming crowd.

Maine Maritime Academy's Last Game: Maine Maritime Academy amassed 388 yards of total offense, led by a career-high 123 passing yards from quarterback Corey Creeger (Biddeford, Maine), in a heartbreaking 35-28 loss in overtime to SUNY Maritime in their season opener.
The Mariners broke the scoreless contest on a four-yard run by Creeger capping off a nine-play 63-yard drive to make it 6-0 in favor of Maine Maritime, with 11:50 to go in the second quarter.
An interception by SUNY's Nick Conte, sparked a 17-play, 91-yard scoring drive, highlighted by a Brett McKinney two-yard rush and a good extra-point attempt by Matthew Murphy, to give the Privateers a 7-6 lead with 29 seconds remaining in the half.
The Privateers scored on the opening possession of the second half on a 23-yard pass from quarterback Thomas Wright to Andrew Short, following a seven-play 63-yard drive. Another Murphy extra point gave the visitors the 14-6 lead with 11:23 to go in the third quarter.
Maine Maritime answered back on their next possession, converting on a 4th and goal on a two-yard run from Creeger to make it 14-12. Creeger found Derek Breunig (Westbrook, Maine) in the end zone for a successful two-point conversion to tie the game at 14-14 with 2:39 remaining in the third quarter.
Cody Chapman (Bangor, Maine) recovered a fumble for the Mariners on the next possession setting up a four-play 22-yard scoring drive on a James Ferrar (Cumberland, Maine) two-yard run. Cameron Crook (Amherst, N.H.) converted on the extra point kick to give the Mariners 21-14 advantage.
The Mariner defense held the Privateers to a three-and-out on the next drive, sparking a 10-play 64-yard scoring drive, once again capped off by a two-yard run from Creeger and an extra point from Crook to give Maine Maritime Academy a 28-14 lead with 5:10 remaining in the game.
The Privateers responded with scoring drives on their next two possessions, on a seven-yard touchdown rush by Wright and a 28-yard pass from Wright to Short, to tie the game up at 28-28 with 38 seconds remaining in regulation.
With the final possession in regulation, the Mariner offense put together a six-play 55-yard charge down the field, but Creeger's pass was intercepted in the end zone as time expired.
The Mariners won the coin toss in the overtime period and chose to defend. The Privateers used a 10-yard rush from McKinney and an eight-yard rush from Torelli to pick up two quick first downs. Torelli scored on a two-yard rush, and Murphy added an extra-point to make it 35-28. The Privateer defense came up strong in the final possession holding the Mariners scoreless and picking up the victory.
Massachusetts Maritime's Last Game: Richie Phillips rushed for a career-high 100 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winning four-yard run with 24 seconds remaining, as Massachusetts Maritime scored twice in the final 4:24 of action to notch a 28-24 victory over SUNY-Maritime in the Ninth Annual Chowder Bowl played last Friday evening at Reinhart Field.
The visiting Buccaneers trailed 24-14 with 8:06 remaining in the contest, as junior quarterback Thomas Wright's one-yard plunge had given the host Privateers their 10-point cushion. Massachusetts Maritime responded with a 13-play, 65-yard drive that was capped by Phillips's five-yard scamper with 4:24 remaining, and a SUNY-Maritime fumble on the third play of the ensuing drive was recovered by Buccaneer freshman Kyle Johnston at the visitors' 47-yard line with 2:49 to play. Junior quarterback Chris Haggerty hooked up with Phillips on a 25-yard connection that advanced the ball to the hosts' 30 on the first play of the deciding drive, and after a pair of first down conversions, Phillips plunged in for the winning touchdown that gave the Buccaneers their first-ever win in The Bronx in five chances and their second straight Chowder Bowl triumph.
After a scoreless opening quarter that saw Massachusetts Maritime advance twice inside the SUNY-Maritime 10-yard line only to turn the ball over on downs, the Privateers capitalized on a blocked punt to take a 3-0 lead on junior Matthew Murphy's 38-yard field goal just 2:16 into the second stanza. The Buccaneers responded with a nine-play, 80 yard drive capped by Phillips' first score of the night from 10 yards out to take a 7-3 edge less than three minutes later, but the hosts quickly regained the advantage on senior Brett McKinney's three-yard plunge with 6:25 to play in the half. Following an exchange of possessions, the visitors used an 83-yard scoring strike from Haggerty to sophomore Paul Sances with 1:44 remaining in the second quarter, but a 35-yard touchdown pass from Wright to sophomore Christian Castle with 18 seconds to play before intermission gave SUNY-Maritime a 17-14 edge at the break. That score held up until the fourth quarter when the Privateers capitalized on an interception by senior Eric Wallace at the Buccaneer 38-yard line that led to Wright's one-yard plunge and the hosts' 10-point lead, setting the stage for the visitors' furious comeback.
Phillips amassed 122 yards of total offense on the night and accounted for all but 59 of Massachusetts Maritime's rushing yards, as Chris Haggerty completed 16-of-30 pass attempts for 230 yards in his first collegiate start. Sances hauled in four catches for 118 yards in his first start as a receiver for the Buccaneers, who also received six receptions for 55 yards from senior Shane Haggerty. The visitors held a 388-367 edge in total offense for the evening and claimed the Chowder Bowl for the third time in the last four seasons, avenging a pair of last minute setbacks to the hosts suffered both in 2012 and 2014 under the Throggs Neck Bridge.
The Mariners: Junior James Ferrar leads Maine Maritime in rushing with 81 yards and a touchdown, while junior Corey Creeger has completed 6-of-13 pass attempts for 123 yards. Senior Joshua Doolan has rushed for 80 yards while hauling in three catches for 60 yards, while senior Cody Chapman and freshman Jaret Mundth (Davie, Fla.) pace the Mariners defensively with 10 total tackles each.
The Buccaneers: Richie Phillips leads Massachusetts Maritime in rushing with 100 yards and three touchdowns, while Chris Haggerty has completed 16-of-30 pass attempts for 229 yards and a score. Paul Sances has hauled in four catches for 118 yards and a touchdown, while Marshall McCarthy and Gross pace the Buccaneers defensively with 11 total tackles each.
