CASTINE – Maine Maritime Academy will host community pickleball nights in the Logan Alexander Field House for the campus and surrounding communities. The field house will be open from 6 pm to 8 pm, Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday through Tuesday, August 16.  

The first session on Sunday, July 24 will be free to all with an emphasis on teaching the game to newcomers. Len Tyler will offer instruction on the rules and fundamentals of the game. Maine Maritime Academy is providing two courts and all equipment necessary to play. Participants need only to arrive in athletic clothes and shoes. A reusable water bottle is recommended.

The remaining sessions will be free to Maine Maritime Academy employees and dependents, as well as paying fitness center members. Drop-in players will be charged $5 per session. 

The schedule will be reevaluated for additional dates after August 16. Future sessions will be based upon demand and structured around the Academy's activities.
