Box Score 2 GORHAM, Maine--The Maine Maritime Academy women's volleyball team, which was playing its third match in 21 hours, continued to roll with a pair of sweeps at the University of Southern Maine tri-match on Saturday at Hill Gymnasium, defeating Keene State 26-24, 25-12, 25-15 and then host Southern Maine 25-20, 25-15, 25-23. The Mariners have won fourth-straight to up its overall record to 13-9.
Against the Owls, sophomore
Sydney Williams led the MMA way with 12 kills and classmate
Ally Hadley had 10. Both student-athletes hit .526 and also had five service aces each.
Senior
Katie Albritton and Hadley directed the offense with 16 and 14 assists, respectively. The Mariners, who outhit KSC .245 to .072, also produced 19 aces.
Defensively, Maine Maritime was led by Williams who had a career-high 18 digs to lead all student-athletes. Freshman
Hannah Tate chipped in 11.
Versus the USM Huskies, MMA had a .287 attack percentage and allowed just .129. Williams led all attackers with 14 kills on a .440 percentage. Hadley, who added seven kills, had another five aces and posted a match-high 23 assists.
Tate led all student-athletes with 16 digs and Williams contributed 11.
The Mariners will close the regular season at home on Wednesday (7 p.m.) against North Atlantic Conference rival Husson at Smith Gymnasium.
