UTICA, N.Y.--The Maine Maritime Academy women's wrestling team completed a two-day road trip through the state of New York on Sunday at the Utica University Pioneer duals in Clark Gymnasium.
Maine Maritime was led during the weekend by sophomore
Isa Thesing who had a 4-1 record at 160 pounds, including three wins via a fall--the quickest time being just 52 seconds. Freshman
Courtney Clifton also was credited with a win via a forfeit at 207.
In Utica, MMA lost to the host Pioneers (25-10) who were holding their first-ever home matches, Buffalo State (35-5) and Western New England (50-0) which was nationally-ranked earlier this season.
On Saturday in Alfred, the Mariners fell to host Alfred State (35-5) and Felician (29-5).
Maine Maritime is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Will Abele Open hosted by Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa.
