Mary Smith recorded two wins for Maine Maritime Academy at the opening day of the of D3 National Invitational on Saturday hosted by Augustana College.
Smith turned in the Mariners top showing winning two matches, pinning Christina Pahcheka in the first period before falling by pin in her second match. Smith rebound in her third match and won by pin in the second round to advance to the next round.
Junior
Isa Thesing picked up a win by pin in her opening match over Arianna Vessey before falling by pin in her second match and tech fall in her final appearance.
Sophomore Myers competed at 145 for the Mariners falling by pin in her opening match and again by pin in her second match.
The Mariners return to the mat on Sunday for the final day of the two-day D3 National Invitational.
