Women’s Swimming & Diving Falls at Norwich

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Maine Maritime Academy women's swimming & diving team came up short in a road meet against Norwich University on Saturday, 143–76.

The Mariners opened the day with a second-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay, as Natalie Cady, Kylie Cantlon, Clair MacDonald, and Abigail Cormier touched in 4:54.30.

Freshman Marin Griffin and senior Rayelle Brewer placed second and third, respectively, in the 1,000-yard freestyle, while Cantlon and Cady added second- and third-place efforts in the 200 free.

MacDonald highlighted the day with a victory in the 100-yard individual medley (1:10.16) and later added a runner-up finish in the 50 fly (30.24).

Other top finishes included:
  • Emily Metzker – second in the 50 breast (38.83)
  • Cady – second in the 50 back (34.51)
  • Fraga – second in the 500 free (6:06.55)
  • Griffin – second in the 100 free (1:02.21)*
Cormier also took third in the one-meter, six-dive event (148.80).

The Mariners capped the meet on a high note, winning the 400-yard freestyle relay as Fraga, Griffin, Metzker, and Brewer clocked a time of 4:08.46.

Maine Maritime returns to action Sunday with a dual meet at Saint Michael's College, starting at 11 a.m.
