Women’s Swimming & Diving Falls to Saint Michael’s, Bridgewater State

COLCHESTER, Vt. — The Maine Maritime Academy women's swimming & diving team dropped a pair of road meets Sunday, falling 166–47 to Saint Michael's College and 155–72 to Bridgewater State University.

The Mariners opened the day with a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay (2:15.91). Senior Kylie Cantlon placed fourth in the 1,000 freestyle (12:57.44), while freshman Marin Griffin led MMA in the 200 freestyle (2:17.12).

Junior Claire MacDonald turned in a third-place finish in the 200 IM (2:33.41) and later took fourth in the 100 butterfly (1:07.48). Griffin added a third in the 500 freestyle (6:09.28), and freshman Avery Fraga placed fourth in the 100 freestyle (1:03.00).

Freshman Emily Metzker and sophomore Natalie Cady posted top-five times in the 100 backstroke, while Cantlon and junior McKenzie Murray competed in the 100 breaststroke. Sophomore Abigail Cormier placed sixth on the one-meter board (145.85).

MMA closed the meet with a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:55.14).
The Mariners return to action Saturday at Husson University for a 6 p.m. dual meet.
