FROSTBURG, Md.--The Maine Maritime Academy women's wrestling team began its February slate on Saturday with perhaps its toughest test to date at the 30-team Frostburg State Bobcat Open at Bobcat Arena. The Mariners scored six points to finish in 23rd place in a competitive field that included nationally-ranked competitors from all NCAA Divisions, including NCAA II Frostburg, junior college squads and club programs.

Sophomore Isa Thesing placed eighth at 160 pounds, recording her sixth pin since Jan. 1, to pace Maine Maritime.

The Mariners are scheduled to be back in action on Sunday-Tuesday, Feb. 23-25, at the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships Northeast Region 1 Tournament hosted by Elmira (N.Y.) College.
