CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy Men's Basketball program is excited to announce the addition of Connor Kingsbury to its 2026 recruiting class, the second under Head Coach Cedric Gillette.

Kingsbury, a 6'2" guard from Port Clyde, Maine, joins the Mariners after graduating from Oceanside High School, where he competed for the Mariners and developed a reputation as a hardworking, team-first player. He also competed with Midcoast Elite during the AAU season, continuing to develop his game against top competition throughout New England. Connor also carries a strong connection to the program as the younger brother of former Maine Maritime men's basketball player Cameron Kingsbury, continuing his family's legacy in Castine.

A local product with a strong work ethic, Kingsbury is eager to continue his basketball career close to home while representing the state of Maine at the collegiate level. His dedication, toughness, and commitment to improving make him an exciting addition to the Maine Maritime program as the Mariners continue to build toward competing for conference championships.

Away from the court, Kingsbury enjoys lobstering and weightlifting. He chose Maine Maritime Academy because of its outstanding academic reputation and the opportunity to build a great future while continuing to play college basketball. Kingsbury plans to major in Marine Engineering Operations at Maine Maritime Academy.

What They're Saying About Connor Kingsbury

Cedric Gillette, Head Coach, Maine Maritime:
"We are really excited to add Connor to our program. He comes from a really successful high school program at Oceanside, and every time we watched him play, one thing stood out—he can really shoot the basketball. He's a lights-out shooter who has the ability to change a game in a hurry, and that's a skill that is always valuable at the college level.

We first got to see Connor in person at our prospect camp last summer, and he really caught our attention. He competed at a high level, shot the ball extremely well, and showed us he was capable of playing at this level. From that point on, we knew he was someone we wanted to continue building a relationship with.

On a personal level, this one is really special for me. Connor's older brother, Cam, is one of my all-time favorite former players that I've had the opportunity to coach. Cam was everything you want in a teammate, and we're incredibly lucky to be adding another Kingsbury to our roster. Knowing the family and the type of people they are makes me even more excited to welcome Connor to Maine Maritime. I know he's going to fit our culture, work incredibly hard, and make our program better every single day."

Trevor Reed, Head Coach, Oceanside High School
"One of the most competitive players I've coached. He's a knockdown shooter who wants the ball in big moments and is committed to winning"
