Men’s Soccer Announces 2026 Schedule

CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy men's soccer team announced its 2026 schedule on Wednesday, featuring 16 games, including seven at home on Ritchie Field.

"The team and I are really excited for the start of the Fall 2026 Season," head men's soccer coach Billy Shannon said! "We have a deep and talented group of veteran returners who will be joined by some promising and enthusiastic first-years and transfers who are really excited to compete in a Mariners uniform. We're thrilled to have them back on campus to continue the culture building and developing as a team and really looking forward to what promises to be a fun and incredibly competitive season this fall.

This season's match schedule is arguably the toughest "strength of schedule" that we've put together in my eleven seasons and quite possibly the toughest strength of schedule our program has put together in the history of our program. We believe that testing ourselves against Regional & Nationally Ranked programs will only help us as we prepare for the rigors of conference play and hopefully a lengthy post-season tournament run!"

The Mariners begin the upcoming season with scrimmages against the University of Maine at Fort Kent and Central Maine Community College before opening the regular season at home on Sept. 1 against the University of New England. MMA will then host Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Sept. 4.

Following the matchup with Saint Joseph's, MMA plays three straight road contests, beginning with the United States Coast Guard Academy on Sept. 5. The Mariners will then face CMCC in an exhibition on Sept. 12 before traveling to Colby College on Sept. 13.

North Atlantic Conference play begins Sept. 19 when the Mariners host the University of Maine at Farmington. MMA will then welcome Vermont State University Johnson to Ritchie Field on Sept. 26 for Homecoming.

Maine Maritime will then hit the road for four straight contests, opening with Bates College on Sept. 30 to close out the opening month. The Mariners will follow with matchups against Vermont State University Lyndon on Oct. 3, Middlebury College on Oct. 4 and the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Oct. 10.

The Mariners return home Oct. 11 to face the University of Maine at Fort Kent before hosting Thomas College on Oct. 17 for Senior Day.

MMA then travels to face the University of Southern Maine on Oct. 20 before hosting its final home contest of the regular season against Lesley University on Oct. 24. The Mariners will host Military Appreciation Day in conjunction with the Lesley matchup.

Maine Maritime closes out the regular season on the road Oct. 28 against Husson University.
