Guss was a four-year member of the football program. During his time on the field, Guss was named a New England Football Conference (NEFC) Honorable Mention All-Conference selection, an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-Star, and an AP All-New England Third Team selection.

Guss currently holds the single-game record for longest pass reception (94), the single-season records for pass reception yards (819), pass receptions (57), and receptions per game (7.12), and career records for pass reception yards (2449), pass receptions (177), pass reception touchdowns (27), and receptions per game (5.53).
