Maine Maritime Academy

William Mottola, former Director of Athletics joined the Maine Maritime Academy in 1967. He coached football, baseball, and wrestling; and served as the commissioner of the New England Football Conference. His tenure at the head of the athletic department included the construction of the Alexander Fieldhouse, the installation of the all-weather surface at Ritchie Field, and the development of women’s sports.
