Maine Maritime Academy

Giamotti was the Sports Information Director, official scorer for football and basketball games, and a friend of MMA athletics for more than 35 years. Giamotti served as the Assistant Commandant of Midshipmen at Maine Maritime before being named the Director of Public Relations and Sports Information. In 1998, he was formally recognized by the athletic department for his service to the Mariners' sports teams. Gio was a presence in the press box and at courtside until 2004. His carefully hand-kept stats are largely responsible for the Academy owning one of the deepest records databases in collegiate athletics.
