Hall of Fame
King coached the men’s and women’s cross country teams for 10 years during 2011-2020. He coached a combined 66 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) All-Academic selections (38 men, 28 women) and three NAC Senior Scholar Athletes of the Year in John Brigante, Sierra James and Aylen Wolf. He coached Wyatt LePage to CoSIDA/Capital One Division III Academic All-American status and Matt Methot to United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCA) All-Academic status and an All-NAC First Team finish. He coached a total of four men to All-NAC First Team and seven men to All-NAC Second team finishes, while coaching Sierra James to an All-NAC Second Team finish. His women’s team placed as high as fourth in the NAC in 2015, while his men rolled up two second place finishes at the NAC championships, along with a third place and two fourth place finish. In half of his seasons at the helm, the Mariners finished in the top five in the NAC. He was named the NAC Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2019.
